Since the dawn of time, technology had always been improving and upgrading. We have gone from a big, bulky computer that sat on a desk to a smooth and sleek laptop that is the size of an A4 sheet of paper and can be carried anywhere; from a brick like mobile phone with a pull out aerial to a touch screen mobile that is as light as a feather; from the beeping, slow dial up internet to fast Wi-fi that can be connected to as many devices as you want. As you can see, human society has come so far and is still moving forward why, not too recently Apple launched the iPhone 4s but there is talk of an iPhone 5 being released in a couple of months time. As time goes on, our knowledge of the way in which technology works grows, giving people more and more ideas on where it can take us.
Nowadays, it is very normal for a teenager to spend their time on their own personal mobile phone, texting and calling people at every hour. Well, most teenagers. There is a group of us teens that do not, in fact, own a mobile phone. I myself being one of these rare oddities… well I will be until I get my phone tomorrow! That’s right, I am joining the technological revolution! My parent’s said that I was allowed to get a phone when I could pay for it myself, so when I got a job I decided to buy a phone. Luckily for me I have an auntie who really loves me and she is giving me her old iPhone 4, so all I have to do is pay for the credit! I am very excited about getting my first phone, but I know that it will probably lead to a very big facebook addiction and me spending all my credit in a week or two but for now I am very happy indeed. A plus is that WordPress has an app, so I can blog whenever I want! 🙂
Though, this is not the first time I have conformed to society’s social technology expectations; I got facebook, I started shopping online, I got a laptop and I even started a blog. So this isn’t my first step into joining the revolution, but it is a pretty big leap from where I was. So yeah, I am getting my phone but I won’t become one of those teenage, technology zombies- not being able to do without their mobile for a minute- I promise 🙂
